Nous avons déjà fait état de la pédagogie basée sur le service communautaire (community learning), qui prend toute sorte de formes : une semaine de relâche « citoyenne » à l’Université de Toronto, le projet Accès-Science à l’Université Laval, le relevé de notes enrichi d’activités « co-curriculaires » de l’Université Concordia, et plus récemment les mentors étudiants de l’Université de Calgary.
Voilà maintenant que l’UQTR y va d’une initiative en ce sens avec ses PICOM, ses Projets d’intervention communautaires qui prennent la forme d’activités pédagogiques créditées.
Un bon nombre de programmes offrent les cours PIC1001 (6 crédits) et PIC1002 (3 crédits) parmi les cours à option disponibles; les étudiants sont invités à s’y inscrire pour concevoir, réaliser et diffuser un projet répondant à un besoin d’un organisme communautaire. Les projets sont réalisés par des équipes de 3 à 5 étudiants et sont supervisés par un enseignant ainsi qu’un mentor, nommé par l’organisme bénéficiaire du projet. Au besoin, un soutien financier est également disponible pour supporter la réalisation du projet.

À l’UdeS, nous avons le Programme d’apprentissage expérientiel par l’intervention communautaire (PAEIC) http://www.usherbrooke.ca/paeic/accueil/ qui met en place des partenariats entre les étudiants et les organismes dans le cadre de cours, d’essais et de recherches.
